Frances Flannery, PhD
Teacher | Scholar | Activist
I am an interdisciplinary scholar-teacher-activist working to co-create sustainable peace. As a writer and as Co-Founder of BioEarth, I believe that if we are honest and insightful enough to examine what has brought us climate change, violence, and inequity, we will find the courage to embrace the paradigm change of our genuine interconnectedness, which is an ecological, social, and spiritual reality. That shift will change destructive systems in the blink of an eye. Together, we can create a world with greater harmony, balance, justice, beauty, and dignity for all beings.

“The present moment calls for humans to reawaken to the possibilities of renewed relationships with one another, animals, the earth, and the divine. This calls for wisdom, deep honesty, compassion, and courage. Once we grasp the violence that marks the human condition, we must be willing to look backwards to see where we have gone wrong, inward to commit to genuine change, and forwards to cultivate a better world for future generations. I believe we can and must do this, for the sake of our children, if we are to survive and thrive in this climate crisis.“
